TBW Law Joins WA Legends as McCrath Event Title Sponsor

SEATTLE – Washington State Legends of Soccer is pleased to announce TBW Law as title sponsor for An Evening with Cliff McCrath – Celebrating Six Decades of Being Our Uncle Nubby and 50 Years of Northwest Soccer Camp.

An Evening with Cliff McCrath is Wednesday, October 30 (6 p.m. doors; 7 p.m. program), at the Hilton Bellevue. The event is a fundraiser for WA Legends and the Jimmy Gabriel Memorial Scholarship. Erin Mayovsky of FOX 13 will serve as master of ceremonies. Tickets are available at WASoccerLegends.org.

“TBW Law is a perfect partner for this event. We share a love for the game and a reverence for Coach McCrath and what he’s meant to the growth and loving spirit of our soccer community,” said WA Legends president Frank Gallo. “This event is both a tribute to Cliff and his creative brilliance over 54 years in Seattle, but also allows our organization to continue growing awareness of our great soccer heritage and invest in education for in-need youth.”

TBW Law is a family-owned personal injury law firm with Seattle roots and has been a strong supporter of the local soccer community since the 1970s.

“We are proud to show our appreciation for a Washington soccer icon, Cliff “Uncle Nubby” McCrath,” said Ted Wacker, a soccer-playing Seattle native whose Orange County law practice has now opened an office in Bellevue. “Cliff’s leadership and mentorship have been a shining light within our community nurturing and developing our youth with strength, integrity, and compassion. His indomitable spirit has inspired countless individuals to achieve success in all facets of life. To the Legend, cheers!”

Ted and Doug Wacker, who is the managing attorney for the Washington office, were raised in north Seattle, and played at Shorecrest High School and for the Seattle Youth Soccer Association’s highly successful Seattle United, winner of two state cups during the Eighties. Ted went to play at San Diego State, where he was part of a significant Seattle connection that led the Aztecs to the 1987 NCAA Division I final. Ted then went on to law school at the neighboring University of San Diego School of Law, graduating in 1991.
