‘The best site for a state’s soccer heritage in the country’

We are grateful for the plaudits of Soccer America’s Dan Woog, who spoke to WA Legends executive director Frank MacDonald about our recently enhanced the free online museum. We believe this to be a gamebreaking platform to tell the story of what y’all (and your ancestors/predecessors) have doing for 135-plus years to make Washington the great state of soccer.

Woog writes, “It also may be the best site for a state’s soccer heritage in the country. Year by year (and era by era, in the early days), it offers an astonishingly robust report of just about everything of significance in the state’s soccer history. All levels are represented: professional (including long-forgotten leagues), college, club, high school and youth. There are videos, photos, lists (All-Americans, for example) and milestones (every boys and girls high school state champion).

“The amount of detail is extraordinary. The research required is mind-boggling. There is even an introductory paragraph for each year and era, with information on what was happening then in the world beyond Washington (on and off the field).”
